HI, I’M VERENA

It all started with an identity built on achievement and a love affair with excel models

I built a career bigger than my wildest dreams.
I had far more money than I could spend, status, a career that turned heads.

So why did I feel like I was suffocating?

Slow Mornings

Today, I live in Mexico City, having built a life that once felt impossible. Building a new home, opening a wine bistro, and creating a career on my own terms.

My life looked perfect on paper, yet I felt trapped in a cycle that no longer resonated with me.

I left the perceived security of a prestigious career. I created a life that blends my ambition with authenticity, a new definition of success that includes a free time schedule while increasing my wealth, and drive with meaning.

A career that is aligned with my values.

The Primer

Nerd living in Mexico City with a deep love for surfing, wine, and excel spreadsheets.

I had no roadmap. Just a deep need to build a life that felt as good as it looked. Through trial and error, I learned what truly fuels a fulfilling career — and what slowly drains the soul.

That is how Child of the Tides was born.

What I'm

loving

Early morning surfs, freediving in ocean safaris or exploring reefs, having slow mornings while enjoying my Americano on my rooftop and traveling, learning and

What I'm

learning

Being able to hold my breath above 3 minutes, how we see perceive fear and why our body has a similar reaction between seeing an wild animal or an email.

What I'm

not about

Running on fuel driven by existential angst.

what I

believe

You will figure it out, if you go for what you want, what you truly want and not what society expects you to achieve, you will figure it out.

If you're into career glow-ups, exchanging the fuel of existential angst, deep (but borderline funny) life insights, things I find funny + probably way too many surf and freediving analogies?
You've come to the right place.
